The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has developed the Concept of Military-Patriotic Education in the MoD framework, with the objective of exerting a substantial influence on the motivation of military personnel and potential recruits.

The new Concept, representing the initial phase in the establishment of a contemporary military-patriotic education system, was officially approved by the Order of the Ministry of Defense No. 554/nm dated 14.08.2024.

"The endorsement of the Concept marks just the initial phase in establishing a contemporary and efficient military-patriotic education system. On its basis, a range of regulatory documents will be developed, including the relevant strategy.

Military-patriotic education should become a powerful motivation tool for military personnel and those considering joining the Armed Forces. Furthermore, the implementation of the Concept will contribute to building the appropriate social and cultural infrastructure. We should avoid using outdated approaches. On the contrary, our benchmark is progressive experience and the creation of a fully operational military-patriotic education system," emphasized Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova.

Thus, the Ministry is tasked with developing guidelines to implement the strategy for military-patriotic education in the MoD framework. The Ministry of Defence is also in charge of arranging military-patriotic education programs and supervising their implementation by military authorities.

At the same time, the military-patriotic education of the AFU personnel is carried out by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The General Staff’s role includes planning and organizing patriotic training and military-patriotic events, as well as engaging personnel in these activities to enhance, among other aspects, the prestige of military service.
