The Ministry of Defence hosted a meeting with the CEO of one of Rheinmetall concern’s companies

Deputy Ministers of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin and Sergiy Boev conducted a working meeting with a delegation from the German company Rheinmetall Landsystem GmbH, led by its CEO, Dr. Björn Bernhard. The company was one of the first to establish localized production in Ukraine.
Key topics of the meeting included the advancement of joint projects aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s military capabilities. The discussions specifically focused on the operations of Ukrainian-German joint ventures responsible for the repair and maintenance of foreign-supplied military equipment. Additionally, the possibilities of partner-led training for Ukrainian specialists in the technical maintenance of weapons and military equipment were explored.
“Ukraine is interested in expanding its cooperation with allies in the defense industry. New technologies and production capabilities are of paramount importance to Ukraine, given the current threats. We are grateful to our German partners for their support in bolstering the technical capabilities of Ukraine’s military and advancing our defense industry. The localization of defense enterprises in Ukraine and the production of modern weaponry to high technological standards remain a critical priority for strengthening our nation’s defense,” stated Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin.
The parties also exchanged views on further expanding defense cooperation.
