The Ministry of Defence has presented an IT system aimed at improving the supply to the military on the frontlines

The State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), the acquisition agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, has presented to drone manufacturers a demo version of DOT-Chain Defence, an IT system aimed at improving the supply to military personnel on the frontlines.
The system will be used to supply military units with unmanned aerial vehicles, ground robotic systems, as well as electronic warfare (EW) and signals/electronic intelligence (SIGINT/ELINT) equipment.
The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, announced that Ukraine has established and continues to develop a robust production cluster for unmanned systems. However, given the current challenges, there is a pressing need for continuous improvement of unmanned systems across various applications.
“The Ministry of Defence is developing mechanisms to respond more effectively to the urgent needs of our military. The DOT-Chain Defence IT system is one such mechanism,” said Ivan Havryliuk.
According to his statement, the system will operate as a ‘marketplace,’ where military units can independently choose the types and amounts of equipment they need. This will streamline the supply of unmanned systems to military units, making it more efficient, tailored, and operationally precise.
Manufacturers of weapons and military equipment were introduced to the system’s functionality, given the opportunity to test it firsthand, and provided answers to their questions.
“Meetings like these with market players are vital, as they allow us to receive feedback at all stages of developing these large-scale IT systems. Ukraine’s defense sector has significant potential for growth, and DOT-Chain Defence is intended to support that development,” said Aliona Zhuzha, IT Advisor at DOT.
“We anticipate that the system’s implementation will not only provide the market with tools for scaling production but will also raise the entire process of equipping the Armed Forces of Ukraine with unmanned systems to a new level of quality,” she added.
