The Ministry of Defence has announced a tender for the procurement of 1.7 million sets of field rations for 2025
The State Operator for Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT), the Ministry of Defence's acquisition agency, has announced a tender for the procurement of 1.7 million daily field rations sets No. 15 for the entire next year. The procurement is expected to exceed UAH 485 billion.
A typical ration includes 14 items, which, in addition to the main dishes, feature utensils, spices, drinks, and more. The total energy value of the dishes must be at least 3500 kcal per set.
“The nutrition of our defenders is not just about calories, but also a guarantee of their combat readiness. We are implementing new control mechanisms to ensure that the field rations meet the highest standards, thereby providing strength and endurance to service members in the most challenging conditions,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Dmytro Klimenkov.
The main difference in this year's procurement of field rations is the enhanced control over the fulfillment of the contract. In particular, control points have been added where food products will be inspected by the Department of Food Safety, and the DOT will inspect all non-food items. Additionally, a tasting procedure is mandatory before the packaging process to ensure that, in addition to quality standards, the contents of the set meet the required flavor characteristics.
