The Ministry of Defence has allocated an additional UAH 1.89 billion to combat brigades for drone procurement
An additional UAH 1.89 billion has been allocated by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine for the procurement of drones for combat brigades.
55% of the funds are allocated for Mavic drones, including those equipped with night vision.
18% of the funds will be directed towards procuring FPV kamikaze drones.
Furthermore, considerable financial resources have been designated to procure reconnaissance UAVs, bombers, and their associated spare parts.
Thus, the directive from Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, was implemented in the shortest possible time frame, enabling the provision of additional UAVs to the military through decentralized procurement.
A clear advantage of this solution is that the brigades independently procure what they need to carry out combat missions. The drones will be deployed to the front lines immediately.
In total, by the end of 2024, the Ministry of Defence will have allocated over UAH 100 billion for drones, marking a significant contribution to enhancing the technological capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
