The Ministry of Defence has adopted a Ukrainian-made mobile car repair workshop

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially approved for operation a new mobile car repair workshop developed by specialists of one of the Ukrainian defense industry enterprises. This workshop was created to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The new model of mobile workshop is compact and has much better maneuverability comparing to existing mobile workshops mounted on the chassis of outdated soviet-era ZIL-131 trucks. The new car repair workshop can be mounted on the chassis of various models of global manufacturers' off-road pickup trucks.

The workshop is equipped with tools for tire mounting, welding, and mechanic work. It can charge car batteries using a special device. It can also perform diagnostic work using special computer equipment. In addition, the mobile car repair workshop is equipped with a 500-kg capacity wrecker crane and a 5-ton pulling capacity winch.

Several such mobile workshops mounted on pickup truck chassis have already been sent to combat units. This repair workshop can handle the routine repair and maintenance service of vehicles, including combat ones, of company-battalion level units.

Reference information: In accordance with the "Instruction on the organization of the supply of weapons, military and special equipment during martial law”, the procedure for obtaining a NATO nomenclature code and admission of a new model of weapons or military equipment to operation in the Armed Forces has been simplified to 10 days, the Main Department of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment reports.
