The Ministry of Defence earned four distinctions at the 2025 DOU Awards
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine received awards at the DOU Awards, held on March 20 by the leading Ukrainian IT media, DOU. The winners were determined by IT industry professionals and the media’s reader community.
The Ministry of Defence earned four awards in three categories:
- ‘Best IT Initiative with a Social Focus’ for the Army+ app.
- ‘Most Promising Defense Tech Project’ for the Vezha battlefield video analysis module in the DELTA system.
- ‘They Are Inspiring’ award went to Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.
- ‘They Are Inspiring’ award also went to Oleh Berestovyi, Head of the Ministry of Defence's Information Technology Department.
“The Ministry of Defence is becoming a fully integrated member of the IT community. This recognition is of great significance to us. We express our gratitude to the Defence Forces for defending our homeland and inspiring us to create services focused on the service members—everything we do is built upon this principle,” commented Kateryna Chernohorenko.
DOU Awards aim to acknowledge projects that shape the Ukrainian IT community and drive the country's technological progress. The awards were given across 12 categories.
The Army+ app for military personnel, which won an award for the best socially oriented IT initiative, has 800,000 users. It allows service members to submit electronic reports with just a few clicks. The app also offers online training on topics ranging from Overall Training and Routine Under Field Conditions to Introduction to Unmanned Systems and Cybersecurity. Additionally, service members can complete anonymous surveys and access essential services and discounts from businesses for fuel, food, parcel delivery, and more.
The Vezha battlefield video analysis module, awarded as the most promising solution in the Defense Tech industry, streams drone footage in real-time and ensures the effective defeat of the enemy. The Vezha is integrated into the DELTA combat system, enabling the Ukrainian military to detect and classify over 4,000 intelligence/ reconnaissance objects daily.
