The Ministry of Defence and businesses join efforts to improve the quality of military equipment and armament

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is strengthening its partnership with the private sector to improve the quality of defense products. As part of this effort, a memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Defence and the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ULIE), a nationwide public organization in Ukraine that brings together representatives of large, medium, and small businesses.

According to the Memorandum, the Ministry of Defence will support ULIE in advancing quality standardization, including the integration of ISO standards and NATO’s AQAP series standards within ULIE member companies. A joint working group will determine priority measures and initiate the practical rollout of the state quality assurance system at participating enterprises.

“Ukrainian armament and military equipment will meet the same quality standards as those of leading global manufacturers. “Our military will receive reliable armament that will not fail at critical moments,” said Colonel Yevhen Krasnykov, Head of the State Quality Assurance Department.

As part of the cooperation, ULIE will support the implementation of an electronic information and communication system for the state quality assurance of defense products. The Ministry of Defence is currently developing the system. 

The implementation of the system will ensure:

• Conducting monitoring of the effectiveness of quality management systems within defense industry enterprises;
• Preventing corruption by providing access to information and verifying the accuracy of declared data;
• Delivering advisory and consultative assistance on state quality assurance utilizing the electronic system’s tools.

A distinct and equally significant area of cooperation will be the development and delivery of joint training programs for specialists from ULIE member enterprises, institutions, and organizations, with a focus on implementing the state quality assurance system.
