The losses of the russian army in January amounted to over three divisions of personnel and seven tank battalions

Combat operations at the front lines remained intense throughout the first month of 2025. In January, 5,087 combat encounters were reported. Enemy tactical aviation dropped over 2,400 guided bombs on the positions of our defenders and cities adjacent to the front.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the russian army suffered significant irrecoverable and sanitary casualties in January, totaling 48,240 soldiers. This is equivalent to the strength of more than three motorized rifle divisions of the russian army. Throughout the entire large-scale invasion, this number of russian troop losses was exceeded only in December 2024, with 48,670 casualties.

In January, our forces also incapacitated 230 enemy tanks. As the tank battalion comprises 31 vehicles, the enemy has faced losses roughly equivalent to nearly seven tank battalions due to destruction and damage.

Our warriors also destroyed 573 enemy armored fighting vehicles. This roughly equals the number of armored fighting vehicles in nearly three motorized rifle divisions.

Furthermore, Ukrainian warriors incapacitated 963 systems of russian artillery last month. One artillery division of the enemy comprises 18 artillery systems. As a result, our forces eliminated the equivalent of 50 artillery divisions in January.
