The Lethal Defence Acquisition Agency and the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI) have signed a memorandum of cooperation.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov, Director of the Lethal Defence Acquisition Agency Maryna Bezrukova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine Annely Kolk, General Director of ECDI Magnus-Valdemar Saar.

"Strengthening bilateral defence cooperation with Estonia is one of our top priorities. I am confident that the continued effective engagement between the agencies will contribute to procuring weapons and military equipment," emphasized Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.

The parties agreed to commence active work on implementing the memorandum's provisions on cooperation and joint development of new ways to provide weaponry to Ukraine. There will also be an exchange of experience in satisfying the needs of the Ukrainian and Estonian armed forces.

"We are counting on active interaction with the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments for procurement and implementation of joint projects. This will help modernise Ukraine's Armed Forces and meet their needs," said Director of the Lethal Defence Acquisition Agency Maryna Bezrukova.

The Director General of ECDI, Magnus-Valdemar Saar, stated that the intensification of defence cooperation is a logical continuation of Estonia's ongoing efforts to help Ukraine. "Estonia has been one of the first helpers to Ukraine, supplying materials before and during the war. The agreement signed now further intensifies the cooperation between the two countries," Saar added.
