The Government has simplified the procurement of pickup trucks and the disposal of military property

Уряд спростив закупівлю пікапів та списання військового майна

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved decisions that reduce bureaucracy in the Armed Forces and strengthen Ukraine’s defence capability.

In particular, the procurement of pickup trucks and other used vehicles by military units will be simplified.

“In line with the directive of President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and upon the submission of the Ministry of Defence, the Government has adopted decisions that reduce bureaucracy in the Armed Forces and strengthen defence capability,” said Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.

According to the changes, military units will be able to purchase used vehicles (pickups, quad bikes, and motorcycles) through a simplified procedure.

The price will be determined on the basis of an expert opinion or a property valuation report establishing the approximate market value

In addition, in line with the directive of the President of Ukraine and upon the submission of the Ministry of Defence, the Government has approved changes that simplify the procedure for disposing of military property. This will reduce the bureaucratic burden on combat units.

“The speed of decision-making directly impacts the combat readiness of the Armed Forces, and these changes will help commanders provide their units with everything they need more quickly,” stated Denys Shmyhal.

From now on, commanders will be able to independently approve single disposal acts if the property value does not exceed UAH 1.7 million. The timeframes for disposal will also be significantly reduced. The decision also regulates the specifics of disposing of unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition, and their components.

These changes are aimed at accelerating the renewal of the material and technical base and making property management processes more flexible and effective.
