The Government has simplified the process for changing duty stations for soldiers and non-commissioned officers

The Cabinet of Ministers has streamlined the process for changing duty stations for soldiers and NCOs, removing the potential for abuse by military units.

The relevant amendments to Resolution No. 1291, proposed by the Ministry of Defence, were approved at a Government session.

Henceforth, the position of the military personnel will not be included in the transfer order when changing duty stations. Only the service member's name, rank, military unit number, and taxpayer ID number will be used.

The requirement to include the position allowed military units, in some cases, to create obstacles to the process of changing duty station. For example, a service member was reassigned to a different position within the unit to achieve this. This allowed for the refusal of a duty station change, as the positions mentioned in the order and the unit's staffing table were not consistent. The resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers will address this issue.

It also ensures a more precise distribution of authority in preparing and signing transfer documents.

“We are steadily refining the procedure for changing duty stations. We began with this functionality in Army+, which cleared several bureaucratic hurdles. And we keep improving it, taking into account all details that could be manipulated against the defenders' interests. We want the service for our military personnel to be effective and not hindered by artificial restrictions,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
