The fleet of armored vehicles has been bolstered with the addition of the Oncilla-Shturm vehicle
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and adopted the Oncilla-Shturm armored personnel carrier. This domestically manufactured armored vehicle is intended to undertake diverse tasks.
It accommodates three crewmembers and six riflemen. A robust turbo-diesel engine and an automatic gearbox ensure outstanding speed and maneuverability. This vehicle's fuel reserve allows for a range of over 700 kilometers.
The armor and structural design of the Oncilla-Shturm protect the crew and troops from small arms fire, shrapnel, and contact with explosive devices.
“The domestically manufactured Oncilla-Shturm armored vehicle showcases Ukraine's advancements in creating military equipment that aligns with contemporary battlefield requirements. The vehicle's reliability and functionality enable our military to carry out combat missions under highly challenging conditions, ensuring personnel protection and operational effectiveness,” said Deputy Defence Minister Dmytro Klimenkov.
The standard configuration of the armored personnel carrier includes an automatic tire inflation system, hydraulic power steering, air conditioning with an additional heating function, an automatic fire suppression system, a filter-ventilation system, and a winch. Regarding armament, the vehicle is equipped with a remote-controlled weapon station featuring a large-caliber machine gun.
The armored personnel carrier can be manufactured in several variants.
