The draft law proposes the automatic registration of 17-year-old Ukrainians in the conscripts' military register
In its first reading, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has approved a bill developed by the Ministry of Defence, which introduces automatic registration of Ukrainian citizens in the military register of conscripts upon reaching the age of 17.
This process will be conducted online, eliminating the need to visit enlistment offices.
This innovation will be made possible through the 'Reserve+ app. After completing identification and confirming personal data via the app, Reserve+ will automatically generate the military registration document.
“Young men no longer need to visit the enlistment offices or undergo a medical examination. I thank the Members of Parliament for their support of this important initiative. We are working towards a shared goal – to consolidate all government services into a smartphone, making them as accessible and transparent as possible for Ukrainians,” said Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
The new initiative will not only simplify the registration process but also make it more transparent and better suited to modern digital realities.
