The Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has contracted drones for UAH 30 billion
Ukraine's defense capabilities are being strengthened through the Ministry of Defense's active efforts to supply the military with modern weapons as per the President's directive.
Since the beginning of 2024, the Defence Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has procured drones and UAV systems for 30 billion UAH.
The total number of drones contracted exceeds 350,000. These include the most popular FPV and Mavic drones, as well as expensive aircraft-type reconnaissance and strike drones capable of operating deep behind enemy lines.
“Our joint efforts with agencies responsible for the centralized acquisition of drones for the military are aligned with the strategic objective of the President of Ukraine to supply our military with UAVs. It is also important to note that 95% of the drones we have purchased are Ukrainian-made. This shows notable progress in enhancing national defense technologies and validates the high quality of domestic products,” said Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov.
It is undisputed that Ukrainian-made UAVs are highly competitive, as the manufacturers are in constant communication with our military and take into account their requirements and changes in battlefield conditions. It is also important to note that the Defence Procurement Agency has already ordered more than 1.6 million ammunition items for UAVs from domestic manufacturers,” added Maryna Bezrukova, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency.
