The Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has joined an experimental project for the procurement of drones and electronic warfare equipment. Amid russia's full-scale invasion, this will enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities by increasing the use of unmanned and robotic systems in the air, on water, and on land.

The Unmanned Systems Forces Command will also receive active means against technical reconnaissance as a result of procurements by the Ministry of Defense and State Special Communications Service. This will boost the efficiency of defense against enemy drones and other surveillance means.

«We have the opportunity to develop a technological advantage over the enemy. Establishing a separate branch of the Armed Forces dedicated to unmanned systems has already optimized the use of drones on the battlefield. The Unmanned Systems Forces Command will be able to make more timely and effective decisions regarding the use of the most recent technologies as a result of its inclusion in the list of state procurement bodies», noted Ukraine’s Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov.

The Command joined the experimental project due to the expanded list of state procurement bodies, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which amended Government Resolution No. 256 of March 24, 2023.
