The Cabinet of Ministers has clarified the Ministry of Defence's authority in medical care and cybersecurity
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has clarified the authority of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in the domains of tactical medical care and information security.
The resolution, titled “On Amendments to Clause 4 of the Regulation on the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine,” was developed by the Ministry of Defence and adopted during today’s government meeting.
The document aligns the Regulation with current legislation and specifies the Ministry of Defence’s authority across several key areas.
Specifically, the Ministry of Defence is now authorized to:
- Approve, in accordance with NATO standards, logistics and equipment tables, as well as standards and scope of tactical pre-hospital medical care for the Security and Defence Forces;
- Approve minimum requirements and quality standards for medical equipment used by the Security and Defence Forces in providing tactical pre-hospital care, in accordance with NATO requirements and quality standards;
- Approve, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, the procedure and organization of medical examinations for conscripts, reservists, persons liable for military service, and service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service;
- Develop and implement security measures for information and communication electronic systems owned by the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- Engage in military cooperation with NATO, international organizations, and other defense entities to ensure cybersecurity and collective protection against cyber threats.
