At a meeting in Kyiv, Deputy Defence Ministers of Ukraine Anatolii Klochko and Valerii Churkin discussed strengthening cooperation with a Swedish delegation led by the Director General of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, Lieutenant General Carl Göran Mårtensson.
The parties discussed the current progress of a number of bilateral projects on the provision of weapons, as well as joint projects with other European countries.
Göran Mårtensson stressed that it is very important for his country to receive feedback on the effectiveness of the weapons already provided, as well as information on what other assistance Ukraine needs.
Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine Anatolii Klochko thanked the Swedish side for its unwavering support in the fight against russian aggression.
«I highly appreciate our cooperation, and we are ready to expand it for our common success», the Deputy Minister said.
Anatolii Klochko shared with the Swedish partners priority military needs, including modernizing military aircraft and strengthening air defense.
For his part, Deputy Minister Valerii Churkin highlighted the need to strengthen communication means at the front lines.
Representatives of the Swedish delegation emphasized that they seek to further develop cooperation not only at the interstate level but also between private defense companies.
Sweden proposed expanding the Memorandum of Cooperation signed earlier with the Ukrainian side, which would provide for ramping up cooperation in several areas.
