Посилення спроможностей українського війська: підсумки візиту Валерія Чуркіна до Латвії

During his visit to Latvia, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valerii Churkin held discussions with Latvian Defence Minister Andris Sprūds on strengthening the capabilities of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

Valerii Churkin expressed gratitude for the Latvian government’s decision to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a batch of new-generation Patria 6x6 armoured personnel carriers. These armoured vehicles have been serially produced since 2021 under a joint programme involving Finland, Estonia, and Latvia.

“I thank the people and the government of Latvia for their comprehensive and unwavering support, and for the new package of military assistance. Latvia’s consistent and clear position in supporting our struggle is highly valued and important for Ukraine,” emphasised Valerii Churkin, Deputy Minister of Defence.

While not disclosing the full contents of the material and technical assistance package from Latvia, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine said that, in addition to the latest armoured personnel carriers, it includes a wide range of other weapons and equipment that will strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army.

In addition, during the visit, the Ukrainian delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with representatives of government institutions and leading manufacturers of weapons from partner countries. Discussions focused on further steps to deepen cooperation, enhance technology exchange, and strengthen defence capabilities.
