Strengthening sanctions pressure and countering russian provocations: Denys Shmyhal meets with Prime Minister of Latvia
Minister of Defence of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held talks with Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa during his working visit to Latvia.
“We are sincerely grateful for Latvia’s decision to allocate 0.25% of its GDP to military support for Ukraine. Latvia is demonstrating leadership, and we call on our partners to follow suit,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The parties discussed in detail the strengthening of sanctions pressure on russia.
“The imposed restrictions are already yielding results. We must continue efforts in this direction,” stressed the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
The discussion also focused on recent provocations by russia across Europe. Denys Shmyhal reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness to share its experience and capabilities with partners to enhance Europe’s security and resilience against hybrid attacks.
“I sincerely thank the people of Latvia for their support of Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal, expressing gratitude for Latvia’s steadfast assistance.
