In the first nine months of 2024, the Ministry of Defence codified and adopted 70 engineering means for use in the Defence Forces, with 47 produced domestically and 23 sourced from international manufacturers. 

“Modern engineering means play an important role in offensive and defensive combat operations. Depending on the needs of the frontline, Ukrainian weapon manufacturers are building up their capabilities. At present, they manufacture quite an extensive array of engineering means,” noted Colonel Volodymyr Rochniak, Head of the Main Department of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

Among the military equipment produced by Ukrainian weapon manufacturers and adopted for use in the Armed Forces are anti-cumulative protection of weapons and equipment, maintenance modules, modular shelters, standardized smoke grenades, generators and power storage devices (power banks), camouflage kits, etc. 

The codified foreign-made engineering assets for the Defense Forces include crawler backhoe loaders, bulldozers, bridge structures, audio broadcasting stations, etc.

Of all engineer means codified since the beginning of 2024, over 40 were codified in the year's third quarter. This demonstrates the revival of weapon manufacturing in Ukraine.
