In the first half of this year, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and adopted five models of armored vehicles for various purposes.

The list of models that have been given the NATO nomenclature codes includes products made by domestic and foreign defense sector companies.

Wheeled armored personnel carriers, armored vehicles with enhanced mine protection, and tank chassis-based repair and recovery vehicle have been codified to meet the needs of the Armed Forces. The armored repair and recovery vehicle is equipped with special machinery and mechanisms for evacuating armored vehicles from the battlefield and performing field repairs.

Reference information: According to the Main Department of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment, in accordance with the "Instruction on the organization of the supply of weapons, military and special equipment during martial law,” the procedure for obtaining a NATO nomenclature code for a new model of weapons or military equipment has been reduced to 10 days.

If codified and included in the table of organization and equipment of military units, a model of domestically produced weapons or military equipment is allowed to be purchased at the expense of the state budget and used in the Armed Forces.
