Serhii Melnyk: Building integrity at all levels is a priority in the Ministry of Defence's anti-corruption efforts
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine presented a draft of a new anti-corruption program for 2025-2026 at the V International Scientific and Practical Forum “Good governance and Building Integrity in the defence and related security sector.”
The participants discussed practical methods for preventing corruption and developing a unified approach to building integrity within the security and defense sector.
“The Forum serves as a platform for the exchange of experiences between Ukrainian and international experts, uniting our collective efforts to strengthen the culture of integrity at all levels and combat corruption,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk, who participated in the event.
At the event, the Ministry of Defence also presented a draft of a unified curriculum for building integrity in military education.
The key outcomes of the Forum were the development of joint projects and recommendations for implementing integrity standards. The event also featured an award ceremony for the winners of the IV Youth Creative Competition “Together Against Corruption! Your Vision Matters” and the II Hackathon on Integrity Building.
The Forum was held in cooperation with representatives of the NATO Building Integrity Programme, the UK Defence Academy, the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector (CIDS) at the Norwegian Ministry of Defence, and the Independent Anti-Corruption Commission (NAKO).
