Serhii Kulish, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, won Olympic silver in rifle shooting
Serhii Kulish, a serviceman of the 95th group of athletes-instructors of the highest qualification of the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, brings Ukraine its first silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. He won the award in 50-meter rifle 3 positions shooting.
The finals featured the top eight athletes from the qualifiers. With a score of 461.3 points, Serhii Kulish won second place.
“I congratulate Ukraine on the 2nd medal and 1st silver medal in Paris! We are proud that a serviceman won the Olympic award in 50-meter rifle shooting. Today, Serhii demonstrated not only high skill but also the steadfastness of the Ukrainian character and will to victory. I congratulate Serhii on the well-deserved award,” said Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
Earlier, Serhii Kulish, a captain of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, became the first Ukrainian shooter to qualify in this discipline at the 2024 Olympic Games. In the qualifying rounds, he showed the third result, scoring 199 out of 200 points in kneeling and standing positions.
