Sergiy Boyev outlined Ukraine's requirements for ensuring enduring peace to NATO representatives

Сергій Боєв озвучив представникам НАТО потреби України для забезпечення стійкого миру

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Sergiy Boyev attended a NATO Political Committee meeting, where he addressed the enhancement of Ukraine’s defense capabilities as a critical factor in ensuring enduring peace.

In his address to the NATO Political Committee, he informed representatives that, despite the initiation of a negotiation process, russia’s strategic objectives remain unchanged, with the aggressor continuing to pursue actions aimed at the destruction of the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state. As the Deputy Minister emphasized, this is evidenced, particularly by the increased production of long-range strike systems, the deployment of additional troops in Ukraine, and the formation of new strategic reserve units.

“No one has a stronger interest than we do in ensuring a lasting and enduring peace underpinned by real security guarantees for Ukraine. However, today, we see no indication in russia's actions that it seeks peace. That is why we call on our partners to stay focused and continue supporting Ukraine,” said Sergiy Boyev.

In this context, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukraine's pressing needs include enhancing the capabilities of its air and missile defense system, ensuring a steady supply of artillery shells to the Defence Forces, and strengthening and developing its aviation component.

According to him, an essential aspect of strengthening Ukraine's position is the implementation of joint projects in the defense sector, as well as support for the Ukrainian defense industry, particularly within the ‘Danish model’ framework. Sergiy Boyev emphasized that the current capacity of Ukraine's defense industry enables the annual production of defense products worth $35 billion, with one-third allocated to the manufacturing of unmanned and robotic systems.

“Our experience in scaling and our advancements in this area are undoubtedly of interest to our partners,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.

During the meeting, the parties specifically discussed the continuation of support for training Ukrainian military personnel in line with NATO standards.
