Sergiy Boyev met with German Defense Ministry Secretary of State Niels Hilmer to discuss plans for 2025, air defense systems, and armored vehicles
Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for European Integration, Sergiy Boyev, met with the State Secretary of the German Ministry of Defence, Niels Hilmer.
The talks were held on the sidelines of the 16th International Security Forum, currently taking place in Halifax, Canada.
This annual conference stands out as one of the most influential and representative global platforms for discussing worldwide security and defense issues.
Sergiy Boyev thanked Germany for supplying the Patriot and IRIS-T air defense systems, which are crucially important in the ongoing efforts to counter russia's relentless missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
The parties exchanged views on cooperation plans for 2025 and discussed which specific types of weapons could be supplied.
“We discussed the prospect of Germany’s further involvement in providing heavy armored vehicles to Ukraine,” stated Sergiy Boyev following the talks.
He also suggested that his German colleague explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Ukrainian and German defense companies, particularly in producing air defense systems and armored vehicles.
