Сергій Боєв обговорив з представниками ЄС фінансування українського ОПК та застосування механізму SAFE

First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Sergiy Boyev, held a meeting with a delegation from the European Union.

The European delegation included Simon Mordue, Deputy Director-General DG Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood; Benedikta von Seherr-Thoss, Managing Director for Peace, Security, and Defence at the European External Action Service; and André Denk, Chief Executive of the European Defence Agency.

The parties focused on the European Union’s steps to support Ukraine on the battlefield this year and throughout 2026.

Specifically, Sergiy Boyev emphasised the critical defence and security requirements of Ukraine. The delegations examined avenues for directing funding towards the production of drones, long-range strike systems, and interceptors.

Furthermore, the parties explored the potential use of additional revenues generated from frozen russian assets to bolster Ukraine’s defence industry.

Another important subject was the deployment of the EU SAFE mechanism, designed to facilitate new investments in the production of weaponry to meet Ukraine’s defence requirements.

Sergiy Boyev also informed partners about the prospects for cooperation within the Build with Ukraine project.

“Ukraine counts on the participation of European partners in this initiative. This will enable scaling up the production of the most advanced weapons for the Defence Forces of Ukraine, integrate the Ukrainian defence industry into the European security framework, and make a vital contribution to the continent’s defence,” stated the First Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
