September 1. Thanks to Ukraine’s defenders
Today begins a new academic year—the fourth since the onset of the full-scale war. Children will open their textbooks and reunite with friends during school breaks. First-grade students will take their seats at school desks for the first time and meet their teachers. Future graduates will discuss career paths with their homeroom teacher. These are the ordinary routines of school life.
All of this is possible because of Ukraine’s defenders—fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters in uniform. Our gratitude goes to every person who stands in defense of our nation. We remember and honor all who laid down their lives for the Ukrainian state and the generations to come.
We aim for our children to attend school under a peaceful sky, with school bells ringing without the accompaniment of air raid sirens. We want children’s school memories to be about adventures, friends, lessons, and teachers—not about bomb shelters or shelling.
September 1. Thanks to Ukraine’s defenders.
