Rustem Umerov: We are bringing the top global expertise to support service members
At the VII International Veterans Forum, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine outlined significant proposals aimed at aiding Ukraine's defenders.
The Minister of Defence thanked the veterans for their commitment and highlighted the Ministry's efforts to provide the military with up-to-date weapons, gear, ammunition, and training.
Another important focus of the efforts is the rehabilitation of military personnel.
“We are actively using the expertise of the G7 and G20 countries to strengthen rehabilitation programs,” Rustem Umerov said.
In particular, the Department of Psychological Support was created to reintegrate soldiers released from captivity. Besides that, the Barrier-Free Project is being implemented together with the communities. It assists veterans in transitioning smoothly into civilian life without facing obstacles.
In the next two years, the Ministry aims to reconstruct military hospitals in a dozen cities, including Dnipro, Odesa, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Lutsk, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Khmilnyk.
The Minister of Defence also announced the continued digitalization of the army.
“Over the past half-year, a line of innovative solutions were launched, which have reduced paper bureaucracy: the Reserve+ and Army+ apps. The next step is the Veteran+ application for providing state services to veterans,” Rustem Umerov summarized.
