Rustem Umerov: Ukraine and the United States will strengthen cybersecurity cooperation

Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov held a meeting with a US delegation led by Nathaniel Fick, the Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy at the U.S. Department of State.

The discussion also included Doug Beck, Director of the Defense Innovation Unit at the U.S. Department of Defense, and Bridget Brink, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine.

The primary focus of the meeting was cybersecurity, with Ukraine seeking to fully leverage U.S. expertise in countering digital threats.

“We have a successful example of cooperation with American experts from the Hunt Forward team, enabling us to jointly identify vulnerabilities in our digital systems and strengthen our defenses,” the Minister of Defence of Ukraine noted.

Rustem Umerov expressed gratitude to the United States for their comprehensive support of Ukraine and assistance in strengthening cyber defense capabilities.

At the same time, Ukraine is already proving its ability not only to learn but also to share its own cutting-edge developments.

Rustem Umerov and his team introduced the Ministry of Defence's digital solutions to the American delegation.

In particular, these include the Army+ and Reserve+ apps, which make services transparent and convenient to citizens.

Also shared was information about DELTA, a unified ecosystem for the military needs of the Defence Forces, which significantly boosts operational efficiency.

Another achievement of the Ministry of Defence is the establishment of the Cyber Incident Response Center, which will become a key element in countering the enemy on the digital battlefield.

The Minister of Defence agreed with Nathaniel Fick and Doug Beck to further enhance cybersecurity cooperation between Ukraine and the United States.

“Our priorities include increasing investment in our innovations, strengthening a digital infrastructure resilient to aggressor attacks, and implementing cutting-edge technologies, particularly artificial intelligence,” the Ukrainian Defence Minister stated.
