Rustem Umerov took part in a meeting with the Chiefs of Staff of France and the United Kingdom, attended by the President of Ukraine

A strategic meeting was held in Kyiv with President Zelenskyy, Defence Minister Umerov, Chief of Defence Staff of the French Armed Forces General Thierry Burkhard, and Chief of Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces Admiral Sir Tony Radakin
During the meeting, the parties engaged in substantive consultations on further strengthening security guarantees for Ukraine and shaping a new architecture of peace in Europe.
Primary focus was given to the implementation of Ukraine’s security agreements following the cessation of active hostilities, as well as the role of partners within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing.
This is an important element in guaranteeing stability, preventing renewed aggression, and creating the prerequisites for the country’s recovery. Ukraine is ready for peace. But this peace must be fair, reliable and protected by the power of international support,” said Ukraine’s Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
One of the key focuses of the discussion was operational planning, specifically the readiness to swiftly implement the plans of the Coalition of the Willing in the event of a ceasefire.
Rustem Umerov expressed gratitude to France and the United Kingdom for their leadership within the Coalition of the Willing, as well as to all partner nations involved in the Coalition for their steadfast and consistent support for Ukraine during its most challenging times.
