Rustem Umerov met with the Chief of Canada's Defence Staff to discuss military aid for Ukraine
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine held a meeting with the Chief of the Defence Staff of Canada, General Jennie Carignan.
The Ministry of Defence team informed Canadian partners about Ukraine's security priorities: stabilizing the front, striking critical enemy targets, and developing Ukraine’s industrial base.
“Thanks to the investments from our allies, Ukraine has emerged as a leader in the production of UAVs, ground robotic systems, and electronic warfare systems,” Rustem Umerov stated.
He thanked Canada for its strong support, particularly in financing the production of Ukrainian drones under the 'Danish model' of cooperation.
At the same time, General Carignan emphasized Canada’s firm commitment to strengthening assistance to Ukraine.
Furthermore, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine outlined the areas where Ukraine requires increased supplies: air defense systems, heavy armored vehicles, and specific types of ammunition.
“We also count on cooperation in deep-strike capabilities, including the supply of Western systems and support for Ukrainian production of long-range weaponry,” Rustem Umerov noted.
