Rustem Umerov discussed military aid and security guarantees for Ukraine with the U4U delegation

Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov held a meeting with a delegation from the United for Ukraine (U4U), an international parliamentary association. The participants discussed the security situation in Europe, the extent of international support for Ukraine, and the key defense needs for 2025.

The Minister of Defence expressed gratitude to the delegation for their steadfast support of Ukraine throughout 11 years of russian aggression and 3 years of full-scale war. He emphasized that U4U has evolved into a worldwide network of Ukraine’s friends, advocating for our country nationally and internationally.

Rustem Umerov briefed the parliamentarians on the current frontline situation and the threats russia poses. 

“russia is trying to mislead the world about its intentions while continuing to amass troops and ramp up weapons production in preparation for further aggression. I briefed the delegation on the current situation at the front, the threats to Europe, and the kremlin’s real plans,” he said.

The parties discussed Ukraine’s key defense needs, which are essential for countering russia’s aggression and strengthening Ukraine’s military capabilities. These include air defense systems, artillery and ammunition, air capabilities. 

The extent of military aid received from 2022 to 2024 was also analyzed, and the prospects for support in 2025 were discussed. The minister underscored the need to expand the scale of aid, which is a decisive factor for Ukraine's victory.

The meeting also addressed the development of Ukraine’s defense industry.

The participants reiterated that ensuring unity and providing continued military support to Ukraine remain critical priorities for Europe.
