Rustem Umerov and the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed long-term support for Ukraine

Rustem Umerov, Minister of Defence of Ukraine, held talks with Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania.
The key focus of the meeting was long-term support for Ukraine and the development of defense-industrial partnerships.
“We outlined our priorities: joint projects in air defense, long-range strike systems, armored vehicles, and ammunition production,” said Rustem Umerov.
He noted that Lithuania has already joined efforts to fund Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. The parties discussed further cooperation on deep strike capabilities.
They also addressed opportunities for joint procurement, production localization, and leveraging the SAFE instrument for major defense industrial initiatives.
Additionally, a representative of Ukrainian intelligence briefed the Lithuanian partners on the security situation.
“russia shows no signs of readiness for a lasting ceasefire — on the contrary, it continues to escalate. Therefore, it is crucial to increase sanctions pressure to compel the aggressor toward a just peace. I am grateful to the government, parliament, and the entire nation of Lithuania for their steadfast support for Ukraine. Together, we are stronger,” concluded the Ukrainian Defence Minister.
