In Brussels, Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov met with his Japanese counterpart, Gen Nakatani.

The Ukrainian Minister of Defence congratulated the new Minister of Defense of Japan, Gen Nakatani, on his appointment. He also expressed gratitude for Japan's efforts in treating and rehabilitating Ukrainian soldiers.

Both ministers discussed the current situation on the frontlines and shared threats, particularly from North Korea.

“We also explored ways to boost cooperation in demining,” Rustem Umerov added, inviting Gen Nakatani to visit Ukraine in the near future.
