Representatives of Ukraine and France Discussed humanitarian cooperation

The needs of women on the front lines, the implementation of the Human Capital Policy in the Defense Forces, and assistance from the French side on current humanitarian issues were the main topics of the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Nataliia Kalmykova, representatives of Expertise France, Ariane Philis and Elisabeth Rivier.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Defense Attaché of the French Embassy in Ukraine, Colonel Edouard Roucher, and the coordinator of the mAIDan Ukraine program, Sofia Oliynyk.

"The current efforts of Ukraine in the humanitarian sphere are of particular importance. First, it is about the dignity of those who defend the country. Second, it is about the reconstruction of Ukraine in the future. France is ready to support Ukraine in these endeavors", Colonel Edouard Roucher said.

At the same time, Nataliia Kalmykova reported that the Ministry of Defense approves new policy on human capital in the Defense Forces.

This document, in particular, provides for the creation of conditions for career growth and development of military personnel, as well as a system for the physical and psychological recovery of the wounded.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine also mentioned a pilot project for the rehabilitation of men and women in military service, which is being implemented jointly with NATO and within which five new rehabilitation centers are already being established.

Additionally, the meeting discussed the digitalization of social services for active military personnel and veterans, as well as increasing the number of women in combat and leadership positions.

“I am very grateful for the cooperation and hope for the support of our contact, which will allow us to jointly create the best conditions for those who defend democracy,” concluded Nataliia Kalmykova.
