Representatives from the Territorial Defence Forces and the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection have completed training to support military personnel and their families

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, in collaboration with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is continuing the implementation of a project aimed at establishing a social support service for military personnel and their families. The goal of the project is to reinforce support for military personnel, particularly in medical, legal, and psychological matters.

Within the framework of the project, training for future social support officers for combat unit representatives took place at the patronage service of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The project aims to ensure that support for our military is both systematic and effective. From the moment of being wounded to full recovery and rejoining the ranks, every warrior must be certain that they will not face their problems alone. Assistance and support will also be provided to the families of the fallen and missing,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

The event, held in a hybrid format (both online and in-person), was attended by representatives from the units of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine.

The speakers included the coordinators of the patronage service from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, the Charitable Foundation 'Angels,' frontline coordinators, and civilian experts.

The participants were briefed on the stages of medical evacuation, the chain of care for the wounded, interactions with medical facilities, and the specifics of communicating with the families of fallen and missing service members. Special attention was given to the process of registering combatant status, as well as the payments of financial support during medical treatment and rehabilitation.
