Procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defence will be able to use UNITED24 funds for the needs of the Armed Forces - Hlib Kanevskyi

The government has allowed the MoD procurement agencies to transfer funds from a special account, which was opened to attract voluntary contributions from UNITED24 to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the relevant decision by Resolution No. 587 of 21 May 2024.

The funds can be transferred to the Defence Procurement Agency and Derzhavnyi Operator Tylu (DOT) for defence procurement upon agreement with the Ministry of Defence.

“The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is actively working on developing alternative instruments to finance the needs of the Armed Forces. Procurement agencies of the Ministry of Defence have been granted the right to use funds from the UNITED24 special account. Citizens of the entire free democratic world have an additional opportunity to donate to the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” said Hlib Kanevskyi, Head of the Defence Procurement Policy Department.

The UNITED24 platform, created at the initiative of the President of Ukraine, aims to unite the efforts of the international community to support Ukraine in its struggle for independence and sovereignty. This platform allows millions of people from all over the world to contribute to support the Ukrainian army. The Cabinet of Ministers' resolution will make it possible to use charitable donations even more effectively to meet the needs of the Armed Forces.
