Derzhavnyi Operator Tylu of MOD сoncluded 100% of contracts for female uniforms

The Ministry of Defence’s procurement agency, Derzhavnyi Operator Tylu (DOT), has concluded contracts for the purchase of summer field uniform for women worth UAH 130 million.

The contracts cover the need for uniform until the end of 2024. More than 90% of uniforms have already been delivered to various military units.

“Despite the full-scale war, the Ministry of Defence is working to ensure equality among our servicemen and servicewomen. We have to guarantee equal opportunities for everyone defending our soil. This is why the procurement of uniform for women is an important step to create comfortable conditions for our women in the army,” said Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov. “These procurements are all about respect for equality and fairness in the AFU.”

Each clothing set includes three elements: a jacket, trousers and two shoulder patches with the national flag.

Women’s uniforms are different from men’s in shape and cut and available in a wide range of sizes – from 40 to 64 for heights from 146 to 188 cm.

In addition to summer field uniforms, Derzhavnyi Operator Tylu has purchased women’s underwear. The need for these wardrobe items for women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is also met through this year.

These are the first tenders of DOT for procurement of women’s uniform.

“Society has long and hotly discussed the issue of equal supply for men and women in the army. Volunteer organisations and charitable foundation have taken the initiative, and we are grateful to them for that. DOT receives orders what to purchase from the Ministry of Defence, and we take the responsibility for logistical and procurement processes to ensure that women in the AFU get necessary items on time and in full,” said Viktoriia Vynohradova, Head of Procurement Management of DOT.
