Over 100,000 people voted for the new members of the Public Anti-Corruption Council of the Ministry of Defence

Today, 101,215 Ukrainians participated in the online vote for the members of the Public Anti-Corruption Council of the Ministry of Defence.

Despite the DDoS attack, the technical team ensured the security of the voting process. Attempts to interfere with the competition process were halted. Due to such attacks on Ukraine's IT infrastructure, voting was restricted to users within Ukrainian networks.

Some users pointed out that many votes originated from the same IP address. The reason is that the Ministry of Defence uses Cloudflare services to protect against cyber threats. Similar technologies can also be used on user devices with traffic anonymization software enabled (for example, Private Relay on macOS or iOS). As a result, the IP address 127.0.0.1 was registered in the voting logs for a number of users who voted. The identity of each user was verified using authorization through partner services BankID and Diia.Signature and a specially appointed rapid response team ensured the transparency of the process.

Particular attention was given to ensuring that service members on the front lines had the opportunity to vote. Thanks to technical support and access to the website via Starlink terminals, defenders could also participate in the election of the Anti-Corruption Council.

The results of the online voting have been provided to the Competition Support Commission for verification and will be officially announced within 5 business days.
