This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine during the meeting with the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine delegation (EUMAM), led by Gil Rostain, Strategic Planning for Crisis Managementof the European External Action Service

According to Stanislav Haider, cooperation with the European Union is a key factor in the further institutional development and modernisation of Ukraine's defence sector, "Our state highly appreciates the EU's support for long-term reforms of the Ukrainian defence sector, including effective management in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine."

During the meeting, the parties discussed Ukraine's needs to strengthen its defence capabilities, including basic and professional training of military personnel.

For his part, Gil Rostain reaffirmed the EU's commitment to support Ukraine. "Your country can count on military assistance from the European Union and its member states, as well as support for defence sector reforms," he added.
