Oleksii Bezhevets: “On average, 6.5 thousand volunteers are recruited each month across the country”
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine official made this announcement in the city of Cherkasy during the inaugural of another Recruitment Center of the Ukrainian Army.
This marks the opening of the 38th Center in Ukraine, the second in the region. Individuals have the opportunity to seek information and potentially submit an application at the premises of Cherkasy City Council at the following address: 36, Baida Vyshnevetsky Street.
In Cherkasy, locals can get in touch to seek advice and information by phone: +38 (063) 048 94 93 or by e-mail: [email protected]. The Center's operating hours are from 8:00 to 17:15 on Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 to 16:00 on Friday.
“The Ukrainian Army Recruitment Center was established to entice enthusiastic, patriotic people to serve in the military. We are grateful to the Ministry of Defence for this important initiative,” said Anatolii Bondarenko, Mayor of Cherkasy.
No call-up papers will be handed out in and around the Center, as regulations explicitly prohibit this. Over 10,000 vacancies are available, including cooks, repairers, lawyers, UAV operators, medics, etc.
Recruitment is open across entire Defense Forces, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
As of today, over 17 thousand individuals have contacted Centers located throughout Ukraine. The Ministry of Defence establishes these Centers in cooperation with regional state authorities and local governments. All individuals were advised by non-military recruiters who had completed special training.
“An increasing trend in recruits for the Defence Forces is observed every month. On average, 6.5 thousand volunteers are recruited each month across the country. The people are the core strength of the Defence Forces, and the Center provides an opportunity for them to join the ranks. Our recruitment specialists are on hand to offer consultations and aid in matching individuals with suitable positions in the military,” stated Oleksii Bezhevets, recruitment officer for the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
