Oleksandr Balanutsa discussed the needs of the Ukrainian army with the Polish delegation

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine for European Integration, Oleksandr Balanutsa, received a Polish delegation in Kyiv led by Deputy Head of the National Security Bureau of Republic of Poland, Lieutenant General Dariusz Łukowski.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current needs of the Ukrainian army.

Oleksandr Balanutsa emphasized that Ukraine pays a high price daily for the knowledge and experience it shares with its partners: «For the knowledge and experience we share with our partners, we pay daily with hundreds of Ukrainian lives, dozens of destroyed cities and villages. The West often gets bogged down in political discussions, but we don't have time – we need actions, not words. We see that the sanctions are not working as they should. Therefore, we need to find new ways to impose restrictions on Russia – it will continue to fight as long as it has the means”.

During the negotiations, both delegations focused on finding new ways for Poland to provide support. Oleksandr Balanutsa thanked the Polish colleagues for their support from the first days of the full-scale invasion and for advocating the interests of Eastern Europe on the international stage.

Lieutenant General Dariusz Łukowski assured: «Poland's accession to NATO was a complex process, and we learned a lot from it. We are ready to help Ukraine avoid these difficulties and share our own experiences. Poland's security directly depends on Ukraine's security, so rest assured that we will support and seek ways to assist until the end».
In the near future, Ukraine and Poland plan to sign a bilateral security agreement on defense cooperation.
