"Now is a chance for foreign defence companies to localize their production in Ukraine", - Hlib Kanievskyi

"The Ministry of Defence must provide our troops with high-quality means of personal protection on time and in full. For that purpose, the Ministry's Procurement Policy Department is working on improving procurement rules, which should lead to increased competition among suppliers of the Armed Forces," said the head of the MoD’s Procurement Policy Department, Hlib Kanievskyi, at the meeting with representatives of NFM Group (Kingdom of Norway).

The parties discussed the possibility of supplying NFM products to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. NFM Group is a Norwegian manufacturer of personal protection for the military.

"The Ministry of Defence is the largest investor in Ukraine in the defence-industrial complex. The ministry's procurement agencies purchase non-lethal products and weapons worth tens of billions of hryvnias. Now is a chance for domestic manufacturers to expand their business, and for foreign companies to localize their production in Ukraine," Hlib Kanievskyi emphasized.

As reported previously, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine informed the Non-lethal Defence Acquisition Agency about the inventory and volumes of necessary purchases, as well as budget allocations for 12 months. This will allow the business to better plan its work. In addition, the Ministry of Défense recently invited new manufacturers of bulletproof vests, helmets and glasses to cooperate.

Representatives from the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Non-lethal Defence Acquisition Agency attended the meeting with the NFM Group.
