Norway will transfer six F-16

During the Ukraine-NATO Council, Ukrainian Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov held talks with Norway's Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.

He thanked the Norwegian government and people for their unprecedented support for Ukraine.

The parties discussed the current situation on the front lines and the key need of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, particularly for long-range weapons. Rustem Umerov announced that specific agreements have been reached to reinforce Ukraine's air defense.

Special attention during the talks was paid to the aviation component, specifically to enhancing Ukrainian capabilities with F-16 fighters.

“Norway will continue its support and will provide Ukraine with six aircraft in the near future,” said the Defence Minister of Ukraine.

Furthermore, Rustem Umerov invited Norway to join the “Danish Model,” which focuses on supporting the Ukrainian defense industry by directly funding Ukrainian defense enterprises.

He also suggested that Norway take “patronage” over one of Ukraine’s brigades, similar to the French model, which includes training and equipping.
