Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Evgeniy Khmara held a conversation with Norway’s Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik.

As Evgeniy Khmara noted, Ukraine’s critical need right now is interceptor missiles for air defence.

Air defence missile stocks and NASAMS integration

The parties discussed options to urgently increase missile stocks, an area where Ukraine is counting on Norway’s support.

An important area of cooperation is the integration of additional missiles into the NASAMS air defence systems in Ukrainian service. The defence ministers discussed progress in implementing this project.

Countering jet-powered Shahed drones with F-16s and MANPADS

Jet-powered drones are also among the security challenges Ukraine faces.

Aviation is one of the most effective means of countering jet-powered Shahed drones. That is why it is necessary to continue steady supplies of ammunition for F-16 aircraft and increase the volumes delivered.
