New volunteers join the Ukrainian Legion

On June 6, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Lublin hosted a solemn ceremony where new recruits signed contracts to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Legion. Another group of Ukrainians currently living abroad has chosen to stand up in defense of Ukraine.
Lieutenant Colonel Petro Horkusha, a representative of the unit's command, reported that the Ukrainian Legion has welcomed volunteers from Poland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Latvia, Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Czechia. This time, several dozen individuals signed contracts. This cohort of recruits also includes women.
“We are seeing consistent interest in serving in the unit. Each month, we receive hundreds of applications from candidates who, following initial screening, are invited for interviews. It is encouraging that these are motivated individuals, fully aware of their choice,” emphasized Lieutenant Colonel Horkusha.
The newly enlisted volunteers have already departed for a training center of the Polish Armed Forces. Over 45 days, they will complete basic military training under the supervision of Polish instructors, using modern NATO-standard weaponry.
The Ukrainian Legion Recruitment Center in Lublin remains open to accepting applications from Ukrainian citizens residing abroad. Applications can be submitted via the official website of the Ukrainian Legion https://legion.army.gov.ua/ or at Ukrainian consulates and embassies across Europe.
