New deferrals added to Reserve+: for individuals temporarily unfit for service and families of service members with a child under 18 years old

The latest update to the Reserve+ app introduces two new deferral categories: one for individuals deemed temporarily unfit for military service based on the results of a Military Medical Commission (MMC) examination, and another for families where one spouse is a service member and they have a child under 18 years old.

To apply for a deferment, users must access the main screen of the Reserve+ application, tap the three-dot menu, select the “Request a Deferment” option, and choose the appropriate category. A notification with the result will be provided subsequently.

“We continue to expand the range of deferral categories in Reserve+. Our goal is to ensure that all legally provided deferrals can be processed through the app, and we are making steady progress in this direction,” said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.

Additionally, Reserve+ has updated its security certificate, enhancing the app’s protection and reliability. Users need to update to the latest version to benefit from this.

The Deputy Minister also noted that two new services are in the final stages of development to be integrated into Reserve+. The first will show disability information, including disability severity level. The second will show the exact reasons why military registration rules were broken. Previously, the app merely indicated that a violation had occurred; now, users will be informed of the specific breach, such as failing to update their data or not appearing upon summons.
