National Guard service members have gained access to the Army+ app to transfer between units and undergo training
Service members of the National Guard of Ukraine now have the option to submit electronic reports for duty station transfers, thanks to integration into the Army+ app.
The pertinent amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution No. 1291, dated 12.11.2024, were approved by the Government.
“From now on, National Guard service members can use Army+ features, including submitting requests for transferring between units, completing training courses, and participating in surveys. Less time on paperwork means more focus on the primary mission: defending Ukraine!” said Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
The digital tool enables the submission of transfer requests between National Guard units, streamlining administrative procedures and ensuring decision-making transparency.
“Granting National Guard service members access to the Army+ app and enabling them to submit transfer requests between National Guard units marks a significant step towards streamlining internal processes and ensuring transparency and convenience for our defenders. This initiative is part of a comprehensive strategy to digitalize the security and defense sector, aimed at optimizing processes and reducing bureaucratic procedures,” underscored Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The launch of the digital initiative was made possible through interagency collaboration among the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, facilitating the information interoperability between state electronic resources.
“Since the launch of Army+ in August, the National Guard service members have frequently contacted us requesting access to the app.” We heard their request and made it a priority. Now they have the opportunity to use the Army+ functionality, including submitting reports for duty station transfers,” added Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence for Digital Development.
The Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleksandr Pivnenko, highlighted the significance of digitalization in the modern environment: “The National Guard of Ukraine's integration with the Army+ mobile application will automate numerous administrative processes, including submitting electronic reports, transferring between units, and accessing training materials. This will expedite these processes, improve transparency in decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency, equipping military personnel with a practical and modern tool.”
Thus, integrating the National Guard of Ukraine into the Army+ application aligns with the overarching strategy of digitalizing the security and defense sector, significantly streamlining procedures for military personnel and enabling efficient communication and management.
