National Defence University of Ukraine invites applications for a new specialization: Physical and Sports Rehabilitation for Service Members

The 2025 admissions campaign to higher military educational institutions is underway.  The Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and Health Technologies at the National Defence University of Ukraine invites applications from men and women who aspire to athletic excellence, are ready to serve their country, and support its defenders. Applicants may pursue a specialization under the ‘Physical Culture and Sports’ program and contribute to Ukraine’s victory not only with weapons in hand but also by serving as experts in physical fitness, rehabilitation, and adaptive sports.

Programs are available in the following specializations:

  • Physical Education and Sports in the Armed Forces;
  • Health-Oriented Physical Training and Adaptive Sports for Service Members.

“A distinctive feature of this year’s admission campaign is the introduction of a new specialization — training specialists in physical and sports rehabilitation for wounded service members. This program is open to both civilians and military personnel. Defenders who have already recovered from injuries will be able to professionally support others in getting back on their feet,” emphasized Colonel General Mykhailo Koval, Commandant of the National Defence University of Ukraine.

Graduates of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and Health Technologies at the National Defence University of Ukraine serve in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service, and the National Guard of Ukraine.

Advantages of studying at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and Health Technologies at the National Defence University of Ukraine include:

  • State-funded, tuition-free education under a government placement program;
  • Full state-funded support: accommodation in dormitories, meals, uniforms, and financial remuneration;
  • Extensive sports, training, and educational facilities, including: Modern sports halls, a swimming pool, an optoelectronic interactive shooting complex, a water sports training center, and a center for general military training;
  • Course in endurance and survival skills;
  • Winter sports training camp;
  • Participation in international and national sports competitions;
  • Opportunities for internships abroad, including within the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme.

Ukrainian citizens aged 17 to 30 who have completed general secondary, vocational (vocational-technical), or specialized pre-higher education, as well as service members and individuals liable for military service who do not hold officer ranks, are eligible to apply.

Admission to the Institute is based on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) and entrance exams, as well as assessments of physical fitness, a creative contest in the chosen sport, a medical examination, and a psychological evaluation.
